Girls got warnings for doing this special gesture in subway…

With the rising popularity of short videos and live broadcasting, users are seeking online fame by uploading footage of themselves taking part in either funny or strange activities, for the sole purpose of attracting attention and gaining more followers.

But how far are some of those users willing to go to become a “web celebrity”?

Below is an example of someone who, in search of more fans, did this...

Two young women recently did the splits directly on a busy platform on Shanghai's Subway line 13.

The video shows the two young women getting out of the train and then doing the splits simultaneously on the platform.

According to the platform information behind them, the video was taken at Wuning Road station, line 13 of the Shanghai Metro.

Some netizens think:

Such actions in the subway station are likely to cause onlookers and crowds to be blocked, which may affect the operation order of the subway.

If it prompts others to imitate such gestures, the subway will become a place for shows.

Others thought:

It's not that young people are wrong to show off their talents, it's that they're looking in the wrong places.

Then, from the police reporters we learned that on September 1, 2020, these two girls who are both   23 years old did the unthinkable to gain attention online. They deliberately took off their masks (hanging in the ears) despite the condition of Shanghai urban rail transit that one must wear a mask, performed splits for many times, and took the related video released on the Internet.

At present, the two women have been given administrative warnings for disturbing public order.

Recently, with the rise of short videos, such public splits and shows are not unique.

Similar acts have occurred in Beijing, Chengdu and other places.

Sensationalism seems to be the 'short cut to fame’ now. Everyone wants to be famous, have lots of fans, and earn easy money.

There surely are benefits from being active on live broadcasting platforms and short video apps, allowing users to record and share their lives with friends and others. But please follow the rules.
